I tried to paint a self portrait and I’m not satisfied with the result. I’ve never been able to draw people. Animals? No problem. Landscapes? No problem. People are just ughhhh! 🤦♀️ Anyway, maybe with practice I’ll get better at painting people🙄 So here is my self portrait, try not to laugh too hard 🤣🤣🤣
Meet Coco my granddog 😊 This portrait took a little over 2hrs. and over 8,000 strikes to create in Procreate. The first image is my first drawing and the second is the revised photo and the last one is the reference photo.
I do believe I’m getting more control. Pen Tips for the win.
I wasn’t satisfied with my first my first attempt at this tutorial by James Julier. I just got my Pen Tips the other day and I started over from the beginning on a completely new painting. I finished it up today and here is the result.
I love the control that the Pen Tips give me. I have a heavy hand when drawing so they really help out. Here is the previous drawing. I’m sure you can see a big difference in my technique:
I created a few wallpapers today and added them to a new page. I used Pen Tips on my Apple Pencil to create these. I love the control they give this heavy handed novice. 😊 You can check them out on my Seamless Tiles page, link is above and right here 😉.
I drew this dragonfly this afternoon. It took me a little over 2 hours to draw, with a few breaks here and there during that time. Ya gotta eat and get a drink now and then 😉 Anyway, I enjoyed drawing this and I hope y’all like it😊
I was fooling around today in Procreate, trying to think of something to draw. I looked over to my dresser and saw this cute little box with an owl on it that I’ve been keeping odd pieces of jewelry in. I was inspired! I decided to draw an owl. 🦉 I spent several hours on it, did a rough sketch then a polished up sketch and then started all the layers and shading. I ran out of layers a couple times and had to combine them. 🙄 This little owl looks nothing like the one that inspired it. I’m quite pleased with him.😊 Click on the photo to view a larger size.
