If you’ve been wondering how I’m doing on the portrait of my granddaughter here it is after working on it some today.
I’m still not done with it, more shading to do and highlights. I have 3hrs 45 min of work involved and have made 5995 brushstrokes so far. I’m doing the best that I can, considering this is only my 3rd human portrait. Before I bought my iPad 2 months ago I could only draw stick people LOL.
This afternoon I drew a few Daisy type flowers and made it into a pattern for my shop. I have named it Daisy Explosion and you’ll find the entire line of products in this design HERE. Here’s a few of my favorites in this design.
I was studying this photograph of one of my granddaughters and decided that I would attempt to paint it freehand on my iPad. These was no tracing involved, it is painted by looking at the photo on the shelf on my desk. I’m nowhere near done with it. There’s lots of shading and layers to go yet. All the hay to draw, as she’s laying in a hayfield. But here’s what I have so far………
I tried to paint a self portrait and I’m not satisfied with the result. I’ve never been able to draw people. Animals? No problem. Landscapes? No problem. People are just ughhhh! 🤦♀️ Anyway, maybe with practice I’ll get better at painting people🙄 So here is my self portrait, try not to laugh too hard 🤣🤣🤣
I thought I’d post my earliest works all in one post. They aren’t that great, but I’ve improved quite a bit in the 2 weeks of using my iPad and the Procreate app to draw. They are in no particular order. You can click on each photo to see it full sized.
My 1st Drawing
My Grandson\’s dog memorial
My 1st Beach landscape
My 2nd beach landscape
My Dog Marty, my 1st dog portrait.
That is everything that I’ve drawn in 2 weeks. They aren’t perfect, I’m just beginning to learn how to draw in the Procreate app. I am catching on quick I think 😉 Thanks for looking!
I’ve never been able to draw people. They always ended up looking like stick people 🙄 I have been learning alot about using the Procreate app and have been doing different tutorials. I spend alot of time on Instagram, TikTok and my Facebook groups, studying different techniques and admiring other artist’s work. The other day I decided to try to draw a person. I ran across a tutorial on Instagram that showed how to make a cute kids face. I decided to just go for it and this is what I ended up with…..
I still can’t believe I drew him 😀
He’s not a stick person! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He reminds me of one of my grandsons 🤣 He looks like he’s trying to do something he shouldn’t be doing 🤣
