I finished the digital painting that I had posted about HERE. There are some major changes to the original. I’ve added a waterfall and creek and lots more detailing. Click on the photo below to see it full sized.
I’ve named it Blue Ridge Sunrise. The Blue Ridge mountains really do look blue. I tried to do this in a more painterly style, using loss off different texture brushes. I like the end result, do you?
I started playing with brushes again and lots of textures and started a landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which I live near. I’m not done with it yet, because I haven’t decided what to place in the foreground. But here’s what I have so far.
I am trying to work in a more “painterly” style with this. I’ll post an update when I’m finished.
Alot of times when I start drawing something in Procreate, I have no idea what I’m going to make. This morning I started out with playing with watercolor brushes to make a gradient background and it blossomed into a landscape with cactus and a sunrise.
Here is the result, which I’ve named Cactus Landscape.
I drew a similar scene 3 months ago, when I first started using Procreate. I can see how I’ve progressed in these few months. Here’s the previous drawing, I’m sure you can see the difference as well.
I added a bunch of designs in my shop today. Some are from photos and some are abstracts. All of these designs are available on multiple products. Why not check it out? You might find something you love.
I drove out to the nearby lake today, the sky was so dreary, but the wildlife didn’t seem to mind. When I first pulled around to the parking area there was a Canadian goose, taking a rest on the sidewalk. ❤️
Of course, as soon as I stopped the car and rolled down the window it got up and strolled away…..
It began to look for a snack.
After I parked and caught a few mons at the gyms there, hey, I’ll admit, I play Pokemon Go 😎, I caught this gorgeous bluebird sitting on the sign, flying down to catch bugs in the grass. Of course he flew right down in front of my car and I couldn’t get a good shot of his brilliant blue feathers.. Sign sitting is all I could get. 🙄
Then on the way home I snapped a photo of this huge boulder near home.
Well, off to draw. I’m working on several projects, one is a landscape and the other, something mythical………
I re-potted some of my cactus🌵 today into a big pot. They were previously in small individual pots and now they’re all in one. 😊 When I was done I took a photo of it and used it as a reference for this drawing that I’ve named 🌵 Cactus Sunrise 🌵
I thought I’d post my earliest works all in one post. They aren’t that great, but I’ve improved quite a bit in the 2 weeks of using my iPad and the Procreate app to draw. They are in no particular order. You can click on each photo to see it full sized.
My 1st Drawing
My Grandson\’s dog memorial
My 1st Beach landscape
My 2nd beach landscape
My Dog Marty, my 1st dog portrait.
That is everything that I’ve drawn in 2 weeks. They aren’t perfect, I’m just beginning to learn how to draw in the Procreate app. I am catching on quick I think 😉 Thanks for looking!
I followed a tutorial on YouTube this evening called Sunset Landscape by Flo of Art With Flo. I just love Flo’s tutorials ❤️ She explains what to do every step of the way and you can pause the video if need be. I’m just 2 weeks into using the Procreate app and my iPad as of tomorrow afternoon. I’m quite pleased with my progress. 😊 Anyway, without further ado, here is my result from Flo’s tutorial.
