Summertime is pop-up storm season here in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. I went out onto our little deck/balcony to check on Mater the tomato plant and saw that a storm was brewing. I caught a bit of it in the background of this photo of Mater. (If you want to find out more about Mater you can check out this previous post. You can also check the tag: tomato plant to see all of the parts about Mater.)
The tomato plant is loaded with tomatoes. We’ve already picked 3 ripe ones. They are rather small though and I’m slightly disappointed at that fact. I’ll never grow that variety again. Here’s another photo that’s a close-up of a couple that are going to get picked.
The tomatoes are smaller than a tennis ball but bigger than a golf ball, sort of in between the two. I reckon they’ll make good salad tomatoes.
Here’s a few pictures of the storm clouds that I snapped while I was outside.
My Monsterra is growing nicely. The newest leaf had gotten big, almost as big as the previous leaf.
Here’s the newest leaf.
I’ve moved the Monsterra onto my chest of drawers so that I don’t have to move it everyday. It seems to be happy there. I’m watering it every 10 or 12 days and using very diluted fertilizer in the water, letting it run through and then I mist it and let it drain well before putting the pot inside the outer pot. I’ll probably need to re-pot it soon, as there are roots starting to come out of the bottom of the pot.
I added a bunch of designs in my shop today. Some are from photos and some are abstracts. All of these designs are available on multiple products. Why not check it out? You might find something you love.
I drove out to the nearby lake today, the sky was so dreary, but the wildlife didn’t seem to mind. When I first pulled around to the parking area there was a Canadian goose, taking a rest on the sidewalk. ❤️
Of course, as soon as I stopped the car and rolled down the window it got up and strolled away…..
It began to look for a snack.
After I parked and caught a few mons at the gyms there, hey, I’ll admit, I play Pokemon Go 😎, I caught this gorgeous bluebird sitting on the sign, flying down to catch bugs in the grass. Of course he flew right down in front of my car and I couldn’t get a good shot of his brilliant blue feathers.. Sign sitting is all I could get. 🙄
Then on the way home I snapped a photo of this huge boulder near home.
Well, off to draw. I’m working on several projects, one is a landscape and the other, something mythical………
